Well, as many of you are aware, Gackt has started a relief effort for Japan called "Show Your Heart", the link to which I've put on this piece...as a fan, I've always known he has a kind and loving heart and a generous spirit, but I don't think I've ever been more proud of him than I have when he set this up.
I credit him a great deal for helping me understand and appreciate the Japanese side of me, because growing up, it kind of was just sort of there, if you know what I mean by that. Now it's something I'm proud of and treasure. I love the center photo because of the quote. I have this photo framed on my desk at work and look at it often to remember to always believe in myself. And I think, as he says at the Show Your Heart page, if everyone comes together, there is no limit to the good we can help accomplish.
Please keep Japan in your thoughts. I think there is a huge misconception out there that they are a rich country and will bounce back easily from this and don't need help. But the truth of the matter is, they do, desperately. I hope more and more people come to realize this and reach out to offer their assistance.
